Paris, Mon Amour!

And so begins our transatlantic cruise!  We make 3 stops before crossing the ocean over to Ft. Lauderdale for the winter season.  We start it off on the right foot by hitting Paris!

Crew welfare actually pulled it together and organized a 50 person coach bus trip for crew members.  The fee for the 6 hour round trip drive was a mere $25.   Arguably the best $25 I've ever spent.  The bus dropped us off nearby the Louvre and gave us 4 hours to run-a-muck.  It was the very last days of October and an incredibly sunny, brisk, fall day.   These images below are of the park leading up to the museum.

Met up with some friends for lunch.  This picture of my teammate Dane, his beer and sweater was so amazing I had to post it.  I had the best french onion soup ever (sorry Mom) and a nicoise sandwich.  Precision.  Finally my 6 years of French in school paid off.

Now I should add that a friend of a friend is currently living in Paris.  She became our personal tour guide to viewing the city highlights in record time.  She hopped us on the metro and zipped us all over.  We went to Notre Dame.  I personally couldn't have cared less but everyone else wanted to go.  I wanted to go see L'Arc de Triumph.  We didn't make it there.  I was a little sore about that one.  Just means I will have to go back someday!

Really all you need at the tower is a face like this.  Memories!
